Union Bank of India (UBI) is a major public sector bank in India, with its headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was established on 11 November 1919 and later nationalised by the Government of India in 1969 as part of the country’s initiative to bring major banks under public ownership.

The Government of India remains the primary shareholder, holding around 74–89 % of the bank’s equity.
